House Republicans being stupid: French fries off the menu. Fries in the US are for the most part greasy oil-soaked artery-busting cinders of what used to be potatoes. Nothing like the real frites of Europe. And French toast, to the French, is day-old bread served with syrup - peasant fare back in the day, nothing anyone would ever dignify by serving to guests.
